A Vegan Hot Drink You Cannot Refuse: Pumpkin Spice Drink

Knowing that cold season comes with rain and wind, what can be better than snuggling into bed with a gluten and dairy free vegan hot drink? Obviously … nothing!

But sometimes, no matter how much we would like to offer this kind of pampering to ourselves, in reality it is pretty much impossible. The pampering I refer to is the much-lauded afternoon nap. The nap which for most of us doesn’t happen because we can’t just skip the office or school anytime we feel the urge to recharge.

However, what you can do is have a comforting pumpkin spice vegan hot drink instead, anytime and anyplace… with a cooker (even the office kitchen). It is relaxing and delicious. And it only takes a couple of minutes to prepare.

Hot Pumpkin Spice Drink Ingredients

For 2 cups of pumpkin vegan hot drink:

  • 2 cups of oat milk, soy milk or almond milk.
  • 1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree (if you plan to drink it at work, prepare the pumpkin puree at home and store it in a glass container to preserve the nutrients)
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar (exact amount is dependent on personal taste)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin spice
  • Vegan whipped cream – for topping
  • Pumpkin spice – for sprinkling on top

Pumpkin Vegan Hot Drink Preparation:

Step 1: Heat the milk, pumpkin puree, brown sugar and pumpkin spice on a medium heat. Stir continuously if possible until the mixture is just about to boil.

Step 2: Pour into cups and top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of additional pumpkin spice.

Step 3: Enjoy it in silence, paying attention to the taste.

Like a hot bath, a warm drink puts a smile on your face as your mind and body relax, whilst the spices tingle on your tongue. Treat yourself and make this vegan hot drink recipe your daily 10 minute pampering routine.
